Approaching the second quarter of 2017, there are some exciting events lined up for the month of April.
Pop princesses Fifth Harmony, riding the airwaves with their chart-topping hits, will perform in Malaysia for the first time. Or enjoy a slice of Bollywood with Da-Bang The Tour 2017, featuring big names in the Bollywood entertainment industry.
Cyclists will enjoy Ipoh Cycle Fest while runners will be pleased to know that the Perlis Marathon this year has upped the ante by including ASEAN categories.

Da-Bang The Tour 2017

Da-Bang 2017 is coming to Malaysia with the biggest Bollywood stars and a promise to entertain you like never before. So get ready to shake a leg with Salman Khan (Actor/Producer), Prabhu Deva (Choreographer, Film Director & Actor), Tamannah (Actress), Bipasha Basu (Actress), Badshah (Rapper & Singer), Manish Paul (MC/Actor), and Daisy Shah (Actress). This will be one of the biggest Bollywood concerts in the history of Malaysia.

FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 2017
(15 and16 April; Cenang Beach, Langkawi)
Malaysia is counting down the days until it plays host to its first FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour tournament, at the Langkawi 1-Star event that takes place on 15 and 16 April.
The tournament is the second 1-Star event of the World Tour calendar and follows on from the Shepparton 1-Star event that took place in Australia in early March.

Ipoh Cycle Fest 2017

The stage has been set to blow your mind with Malaysia’s biggest cycling festival that’s back for its second edition come April 2017 in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2017. Jointly organized by X Camp Adventure Sdn Bhd and Destination Perak Sdn Bhd, the event promises an entire week of high energy and adrenaline-pumping action for all ages.
The Ipoh Cycle Fest highlights 17 main events such as ICF Bike Expo, Friday Night Fixie, Fat Bike Cross Cup, Ipoh Cycle Fest 2017 Night Ride, and BMX Jam. Other side events include Old School BMX & Vintage Bike Display, Food Truck Zone, Bike Service Centre, Time Attack Challenge, Trike Bike Demo, Bike Rental Zone, Trishaw/Beca Ride, Celebrity Ride, and Closing Concert (MAPS).
Wings of KKB 2017: Selangor International Bird Race
(21–23 April; Various checkpoints in Selangor)
The Wings of KKB 2017 will provide opportunities for serious birders to flex their muscles at the event. It will also provide aspiring birders with plenty of practice.
Birders can spot up to 40 species of birds during the course of the event.
Starting at Kuala Kubu Bharu on 21 April, the race will conclude at Awana Genting in Pahang at 5.30 pm on 23 April.

Duyong Art Festival 2017
(28–30 April; Pulau Duyong, Terengganu)
The fest is back this year with various traditional art and craft exhibitions for all ages. Featuring handicrafts and artwork such as batik art, wooden crafts, and paintings, this is a must-visit event for art lovers and collectors alike.

Perlis Marathon 2017
(30 April; Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex, Perlis)
Perlis Marathon is a programme introduced by Perlis State Government in 2015. It started with the 21KM half marathon which attracted the participation of over 5,000 people.
A year later, the State Government introduced the full 42KM marathon in addition to the 21KM, 10KM and 5KM categories. A total of 8,000 people joined the event.
This year sees the addition of two new categories — 10KM ASEAN men and 10KM ASEAN women — with a target of 10,000 entries.
Perlis Marathon is among the events held to promote Perlis as a world tourist destination.
