Located in the residential area of Hartamas, it serves as a relaxing hang-out spot. The décor is eye-catching, with playful rustic spurs of black and yellow. They use Sumatra Kudamas coffee beans and their flat white comes highly recommended. The coffee here is strong, so if you’re not a coffee junkie you might want to request to have yours prepared weaker. They also serve up a selection of delectable cakes, ice cream, breakfast and light bites throughout the day. The baristas are friendly so strike up a conversation with them.

Acme Bar & Coffee is a sure win in postcode envy, located a stone’s throw away from KL’s iconic twin towers. The coffee bar is frequented by the business crowd during the day and socialites in the evening. The star player is the great food, and a must-try is the unique cempedak cake (jackfruit cake). The coffee is fresh and aromatically prepared by trained baristas. Be sure to make reservations; it can get pretty busy. If you’re in KL for the weekend, check out their brunch menu.

Royal Post is KL’s first mobile coffee café, so the trick here is to track down the truck. They have a dedicated social media website updating their daily location. The mobile café often parks itself around KL’s central business district in Damansara and Kuala Lumpur. Coffees are freshly brewed on-site, pastries are hot from the oven and sandwiches are freshly prepared for you. A great place for a caffeine pick-me-up, Royal Post Café is available for private hire.
